There are many water resources in Antalya region starting in the high peaks of Taurus Mountains, traveling underground or over the land for many kilometers and finding their ways to the Mediterranean in the end. During this voyage, the billions of water drops come together to form the most beautiful waterfalls showing the strength of nature once again. To name some of these waterfalls are the Duden Falls 15 km. north of Antalya, the Kursunlu Falls 18 km. along the Antalya-Alanya highway and that of Manavgat 3 km. north of Antalya. Last but not least is this Karpuzkaldiran Waterfall at the very hearth of the city in Karpuzkaldiran-Lara district just completing the grand journey to reach the great sea. During the hot days of Antalya, it is very refreshing and exciting to visit these waterfalls.
Just a note: The local name “Karpuzkaldiran” means “lifting the watermelon” in Turkish.
